Meadowside cafe is situated in the cobbled village of Dent in Dentdale, Meadowside is the perfect mix of contemporary café bar and traditional home-cooked fare with an added modern twist

Relax outside in the sunshine with a cappuccino or a glass of wine for Dales-style café culture and people watching down 'The Laning', or if the weather's not so kind you'll find a cosy spot by our wood-burning stove to enjoy a freshly brewed cup of tea or hot chocolate and watch the ever-changing views of Rise Hill and the Dentdale landscape.

Traditional Homemade Fare

At Meadowside we pride ourselves on quality, with almost everything made in house. From gluten free soup & pies to our chutneys, not forgetting our fabulous range of delicious home-baked cakes, muffins, tarts, eclairs, and sweet & savory scones - always available with a pot of Yorkshire tea or a cup of our outrageously good barista style coffee.

Our superb, freshly cooked 'Meadowside Full English' and 'Full Vegetarian' breakfasts start the day off well for campers, walkers and day-trippers alike. At lunchtimes we offer full hearty meals as well as snacks and light bites - from soups, sandwiches, toasties, salads, main meals to dirty burgers and homemade loaded fries, not forgetting a selection of daily specials.

Additionally look out for our special events each month and our Bistro evenings which run throughout the summer months.

Provenance

We use only the finest local ingredients, our local butcher supplies all our meat with the majority sourced from Cumbria and the surrounding area. Fruit and vegetables are delivered daily from our greengrocer in Sedbergh, honey is sourced from Dentdale and very happy free range eggs from our local farmer here in Dent.  Not forgetting our drinks range with craft Ales, and Lager brewed in Kirkby Lonsdale, Spirits from Yorkshire dales distillery, wine available from Dunesford vineyard in Yorkshire and our coffee is lovingly made using beans sourced from Coffee Care who are based in Skipton, Even the cheeses and rapeseed oil we use are carefully sourced from Yorkshire suppliers to give you that special local feel. Additionally our ice cream is made at the Milking Parlor in Kirkby Lonsdale using milk from their family farm which includes our own bespoke Meadowside chocolate brownie ice cream using our very own home made brownies

Doing our Bit 

At Meadowside we are constantly looking at ways to improve our carbon footprint and ways to be greener. We always do our very best to recycle as much as we can whether that's using bottle banks, recycling plastic & cardboard or turning food waste into compost. Our cafe is heated in the winter using coffee logs which made from used coffee grinds, all our soaps and gels in the public areas and accommodation is made by Bath house in Dent which is 100% recyclable, sustainable and using only natural ingredients. Even our toilet paper in none bleached none plastic using sustainable bamboo which is 100% recyclable with a low carbon footprint. We also do as much as we can to make sure we only use the minimal amount of plastic, whether that's packaging, take away containers or bottles. We are always open to introduce new ideas and ways to be greener, if anyone had ideas that will help us on this journey with this please get in touch.
