Situated in the cobbled village of Dent in Dentdale, Meadowside is the perfect mix of contemporary café bar and traditional home-cooked fare.
Relax outside in the sunshine with a cappuccino or a glass of wine for Dales-style café culture and people watching down 'The Laning', or if the weather's not so kind you'll find a cosy spot by our wood-burning stove to enjoy a freshly brewed cup of tea or hot chocolate and watch the ever-changing views of Rise Hill and the Dentdale landscape.
Traditional Homemade Fare
At Meadowside we pride ourselves on quality, with almost everything homemade. From our soup of the day with crusty bread, to our home-cooked ham and eggs, and not forgetting our fabulous range of delicious home-baked cakes, muffins, traybakes, health bars and scones - always available with a pot of Yorkshire tea or our celebrated fresh 'bean to cup' coffee.
Our superb, freshly cooked 'Full English' and 'Full Vegetarian' breakfasts start the day off well for campers, walkers and day-trippers alike, and at lunchtimes, we offer full, hearty meals, as well as snacks and light bites - from soups, sandwiches and paninis to battered Whitby scampi, pies, lasagnes and large fresh salads, as well as a selection on our daily specials board.

We use only the finest local ingredients. The local butcher, William Peat of Sedbergh, supplies all of our meat, with the majority sourced from Cumbria and the surrounding area. Fruit and vegetables are delivered daily from our local greengrocer, and free range eggs from our local farmer here in Dent.
Special Dietary Needs
At Meadowside we have a wide selection for vegetarians and coeliacs, with homemade patés, vegetarian burgers, spicy five bean casserole and much more! See our specials board for our daily selection.
Cycling and Walking
Dentdale's lanes, tracks and pathways provide a haven for walkers and cyclists, and at Meadowside we cater for both muddy walking boots and saddle-sore cyclists alike. If your walking or cycling group are planning an expedition through Dentdale why not contact us and make Meadowside a designated stop on your route.
At Meadowside we offer a free Wi-Fi connection for all our customers - just ask for the access code when you arrive!
Why not have sole use of Meadowside if there are a few of you wanting to have a meal together in an evening? We can offer a three-course menu at a reasonable set price from 6pm to 9pm. Don’t hesitate to contact us if this is of interest.

Meadowside has had many uses over the past century - firstly as a primitive Methodist chapel with a sunday school which is now our self-catering studio accommodation.
